Open a PPTX File Without PowerPoint

Need to open a .pptx deck but do not have PowerPoint? View and edit it right in your browser — slides, images and layout intact. Nothing to install, nothing uploaded.

Open your PPTX →

PPTX is the Microsoft PowerPoint format. This editor opens it with the OnlyOffice engine, so slide layouts, images, shapes and text all render correctly. It runs locally with WebAssembly, so your presentation stays on your device.

The OnlyOffice presentation engine is compiled to WebAssembly and runs inside your browser tab. When you pick a deck it is read straight from disk into memory — there is no upload and no server round-trip — so a confidential pitch or internal deck never leaves your machine. It opens both the modern .pptx format and the older binary .ppt, and can export your slides back to PPTX or PDF.

How it works

  1. Click Open your PPTX to launch the editor in your browser.
  2. Pick a .pptx file from your device, or drag and drop it onto the page.
  3. It renders locally with the OnlyOffice engine — page through the slides or edit them in place.
  4. Download it again as PPTX or PDF when you are done.

What you can do

Whether a colleague sent you a deck to review, you need to pull a couple of slides for your own talk, or you just want to read a .pptx on a machine without Office installed, opening it here takes a few seconds. Because the render is produced by the same OnlyOffice engine used in its desktop apps, what you see matches what a teammate on PowerPoint will see — so you can review or tweak a deck with confidence and hand it straight back.

Open source & self-hostable. Under AGPL-3.0 — verify that nothing is uploaded, or run your own copy: github.com/ranuts/document.
